Creative Workshops

Skullpta Face

Book a two-hour session and explore the world of air-drying clay sculpting. You will learn the step-by-step methodology to create your own unique character bust. Our experienced workshop leader, Emma, will guide you through the process and offer tips and tricks along the way. If you are new to sculpting, don’t worry – there is no need for prior experience.

Terrazzo

Create Your Own Terrazzo Homeware with Eco-Friendly Jesmonite. During the two-hour workshop, learn how to work with eco-resin, mix pigments and make terrazzo chips. Walk away with a minimum of two unique pieces. Jesmonite can be a messy craft, so please wear old clothes. Classes are limited to four people only.

Golf

Trevose Golf & Country Club is a short distance from Martha’s Orchard. The course offers arguably the finest golfing destination in the South-West, featuring an outstanding championship links course and two excellent nine-hole loops. Set in a stunning location with dramatic views across the sands of Booby’s Bay, and on to rocky cliffs and shimmering sea towards the Trevose Head. Walking

For walkers, the Cornwall Coastal Path beckons, it runs along the Bay and offers fantastic views out to sea – you only have to choose whether to turn left or right! It is worth the effort in both directions. North Cornwall really is walking and rambling country. The Ramblers Association is very active and the local groups welcome guests on their regular programmes of walks. Details are on their website www.cornwallramblers.org.uk

Cycling

If you like cycling, we have the perfect route for you. The Camel Trail runs from Padstow to Wenfordbridge (28.15Km), but you can ride it in sections. The most popular routes are Padstow – Wadebridge (8.8km), Wadebridge – Bodmin (9.25Km) and Bodmin – Wenfordbridge (10.1km). The Camel Trail is almost completely free of traffic, asphalt covered and flat. If you take a longer route, you can always find a great place for a picnic along the way.

Surfing

Some of the best beaches for surfing in Cornwall is the coastline between Newquay and Padstow. Especially Constantine Bay which is particularly popular with local surfers, even in good weather there is normally good waves.

If you would like to learn how to surf, you can visit Waves Surf School in St Merryn or Harlyn Surf School in Harlyn Bay who provide fully qualified instructors. Both surf schools offer Martha’s Orchard a 10% discount so please mention that you are staying at Martha’s Orchard when booking.​

Harlyn Surf School also offer a wide variety of adult and child friendly activities from beginners through to experienced levels including Sit on Top Kayaking, Stand Up Paddleboarding, Bodyboarding or Coasteering.

Adjoining Constantine Bay stores, where locally you can buy all your essential groceries, is where you will find the surf shop. The Constantine Bay Surf shop offers everything you need for getting out on the water from wetsuits, bodyboards, surfboards and many accessories. The Pit Surf Shop
